"And
thou shalt make an hanging for the door of the
tent (tabernacle), of blue, and purple, and of
scarlet, and fine twined linen, wrought with
needlework." Exodus 26:36. The Bible has an ancient history of lovely needlework. As the verse in Exodus describes, gorgeous needlework was used to line the inside of the tabernacle containing the holy things of God. In verse 26:26, it says, "...with cherubims of cunning work shalt thou make them." I believe God still wants to be glorified in needlework. Many designers through the years have also felt this way, designing lovely Bible verses in cross stitch that have inspired and given hope and beauty to our lives.
